How to Use the Download Juice Application
The Download Juice is a free, open source software application that makes it easy to discover, download, manage and listen to Podcast Episodes on your computer. Juice is designed for use with Windows operating systems, but it can be used with most other computer platforms. Juice also supports a wide range of mobile devices which can be used to stream or download episodes.
The Subscriptions Tab is the central hub of the Juice application, allowing you to subscribe to Podcast Feeds, check for new content and begin downloading Episodes automatically. A wide array of functions are available from the upper list of the Subscriptions Tab, and the lower list displays all current downloads.
Adding a new Podcast Feed to the Subscriptions Tab is simple, just enter the feed’s URL (Address) into the text box, and click the Add button. The next time you run the Subscriptions Tab, this Podcast Feed will be added to your list of Subscribed Podcasts and Episodes will be downloaded as they become available.

When you right click on an Episode within the List of Downloads, a pop up menu offers options for playing the episode with your preferred Player software program, removing it from the list, or checking out additional information on the episode such as Show Notes. If you want to keep track of the latest information and changes made to the List of Downloads, select the “Update” option in the menu.
If you have a OPML file that contains your entire Podcast subscription list, you can import it into the Subscriptions Tab with the “Select OPML File for Import” option in the menu. Alternatively, you can export your current subscription list as an OPML file to save or use elsewhere.
The Settings Tab provides a wide range of options for fine tuning the performance of Juice and managing your Podcast experience. The most important of these are the Default Player settings, which determine how Juice should play the episodes you download. The other most useful settings are the File Manager settings, which control how Juice handles downloading and handling files.
The Log Tab in the main Juice window offers valuable technical information on how Juice runs its various processes and what may be preventing a specific task from completing as expected. This information can be invaluable when troubleshooting a problem such as an unresponsive Podcast Feed, and is also useful for seeking expert advice when needed.
