From Darkness into the Light…
Nice to meet you!
I know, I know…This is supposed to be in third person. There are a lot of things I’m supposed to do in this life, and I do them.
But this is my place, my space, and my hangout, so formality be damned.
So, a little about me, huh?
Hmm…Let’s see. I’m married. I have two gorgeous daughters, both in college, and both seem to really like me. My day job is helping to heal broken hearts. I’m a CRNFA~CERTIFIED RN FIRST ASSISTANT specializing in Open Heart Surgery. When I’m home, I am a voracious reader, an avid gardener, and domestic Goddess of my domain (meaning I can multi-task between laundry and cleaning the kitchen). I used to coach ladies fast-pitch softball, but skin cancer put the kibosh on that for me.
I’m also a Warrior of Child Sexual Abuse.
Don’t you mean victim, or survivor, Taylor?
Nope…I mean a Warrior. To me, a victim lives through some horror or life-altering trial, and merely exists day in and day out. Life continues to victimize them. A survivor fights and struggles to get through the trial, then walks a tightrope always fearing to make a wrong move. I was a survivor my whole life, always in fear and always in shame. A warrior is a fighter, a conqueror, and lives to tell the tale. A warrior stands tall, rites the wrong, and takes back what was stolen. A warrior is fierce.
I AM A WARRIOR!
If you had asked me four years ago if I would ever consider having a website, I would have laughed out loud. For that matter, if you would have said that I would buy a computer, learn the minimum skills to use it, write a book, and attempt to publish it, I would have sworn you were crazy. However, that’s exactly what I did. March of 2011, I bought my first computer and sat down to write (literally with a pen and paper) a mystery/romance novel.
Thirteen months later I finished my novel.
MY PRISON WITHOUT BARS: THE JOURNEY OF A DAMAGED WOMAN TO SOMEPLACE NORMAL is a novel based on a true story…my story. It is dark, disturbing, and very graphic. It’s also a MULTI~AWARD WINNING NOVEL.
I am a proud, self-published author. This publishing endeavor has truly been a journey for me. I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m willing to share my victories and my pitfalls, my successes and my biggest mistakes. I’ve learned so much from the Indie/Author Community. So, when I can, I plan to give back. I hope you’ll join me.
We can navigate this journey, together.
Thanks for the visit…
